Nowadays, the bronze statues of Guan Gong are popular and loved by people. How did the large-scale bronze statues of Guan Gong ascend to the position of God of wealth from a war general? First of all, it is his loyalty. After Guan Yu and Liu Bei and Zhang Fei became friends, they always helped Liu Bei to fight for him. He was a typical image of loyalty and bravery set up by the rulers of previous dynasties to consolidate their rule. In the Three Kingdoms period, he was canonized by Liu Chan as the Marquis of Zhuang Miao. In the Song Dynasty, he was canonized as zhonghuigong and King Wu'an by song Huizong. In the Ming Dynasty, he was canonized as emperor Guansheng by Ming Shenzong. In the Qing Dynasty, he was canonized as emperor Guansheng.

From marquis to Duke, then to King, then to emperor, and then to holy emperor, his title gradually increased. It can be said that these rulers pushed Guan Yu to the altar. In addition, Guan Yu once sold tofu and beat iron in the countryside. Because of his bravery and righteousness, he was respected as the patron saint by the peddlers. Over time, he became the God of wealth in all walks of life. Secondly, and most importantly, Guan Yu's loyalty is in line with the business philosophy of the ancients.

The ancients said, "ill gotten gains are not desirable." It means that money that is not moral should not be taken. Guan Yu also has an allusion to this passage. It is said that Cao Cao once named him "the Marquis of Hanshou Pavilion". When he was ready to leave Cao Cao, he sealed up all the gold and silver that Cao Cao had given him with seals, and did not take away any of them. Even the seal that Cao Cao gave him was not taken away, but hung on the beam of the hall.

There is an idiom called "gold seal", which is about this allusion. I'm afraid you don't know that the abacus in legend was invented by Guan Yu. It is said that although Guan Yu is a Wufu, he is very considerate, especially good at financial management and accounting. The commercial bookkeeping method he used to keep accounts for Cao Cao is still in use. After reading so much, I can't let people sigh that Guan Yu is worthy of the name of martial saint and God of wealth.
